Things to Do in Barbados Near St. Lawrence Gap

Deja Blue sits in the middle of one of Barbados' most walkable stretches, with the beach in front of you and The Gap at your back. Whether you came to do everything or nothing, here are the places worth knowing about.

Transportation

Upon your arrival, taxis from the airport kiosks are approximately $27 USD. I will provide a list of our preferred personal drivers 24–48 hours prior to your check-in. While Uber is available on the island, please let me know if you would also like me to forward information regarding local car rentals.

Beaches

SeaShed (West Coast, Speightstown)

A West Coast favorite for evening entertainment with food, drinks, and a lively atmosphere. Book in advance.

The Local & Co. and Pier One

Two more standout spots on the West Coast worth working into the trip.

Deia Beach, The Boatyard, and Savvy on the Bay

Closer to the condo, these three offer excellent food, drinks, and beach-day vibes.

Cool Runnings Catamaran Cruise

Recommended for lunch or sunset sails along the coast. Happy to coordinate a booking.

Food and Nightlife

South Coast (Boardwalk)

Champers, Blush Café, and Tapas line the boardwalk and deliver some of the south coast's best food and views. Easy to combine with a sunset walk.

St. Lawrence Gap

A short walk from the condo, with everything from cocktail bars to casual dinners. Standouts include Primo Bar & Bistro, Cocktail Kitchen, Crave, Tabu, and Cafe Sol.

Breakfast

Rostrevor Hotel's restaurant and Mimosas are both excellent for a relaxed morning out.

West Coast

For a special evening, QP Bistro, The Lone Star, and The Local & Co. are worth the drive. A round-trip taxi runs about $110.

Culture & Day Trips

Harrison's Cave Barbados' most-visited natural attraction. An hour inland, the cave system runs through the center of the island, with tram tours, underground rivers, and crystal formations.

Hunte's Gardens A lush, theatrical botanical garden in the parish of St. Joseph, built into an old sinkhole. Worth the drive.

Bridgetown and the Garrison (UNESCO) Fifteen minutes up the coast, the historic capital has colonial architecture, museums, the Parliament Buildings, and the UNESCO-listed Garrison district.

Mount Gay Rum Distillery The oldest rum distillery in the world. Tours include tastings, and the visitor center in Bridgetown is an easy half-day.

Seasonal Events Worth Planning Around

Crop Over Festival (July to August) Barbados' six-week cultural festival blends calypso and soca competitions, food fairs, and late-night fêtes Travel Noire, culminating in Grand Kadooment, a costumed street parade through Bridgetown Travel Noire. Grand Kadooment falls on August 3, 2026 Top Villas.

Cricket at Kensington Oval Test matches, T20S, and regional tournaments run through the season. Kensington Oval is fifteen minutes from the condo and worth the trip whether you follow the sport or not.

Holetown Festival (February) and Oistins Fish Festival (Easter) Two of the island's biggest community events, with music, food, and local craft markets. Both are an easy drive from Deja Blue.
